5kWh Residential Energy Storage

With 5.12kWh rated capacity and 5.0kWh usable energy, the Growatt HOPE 5.0L-B1 can store energy generated by a solar system or supplied from another compatible charging source.

Stored energy can then be used when solar production is insufficient or during utility power interruptions when incorporated into a correctly designed backup system.

This makes it suitable for powering selected household loads such as lighting, televisions, Wi-Fi equipment, refrigerators and other compatible appliances. Actual backup duration depends on the connected load, inverter configuration and battery state of charge.

LiFePO4 Battery Technology

The battery uses Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry, widely used in modern stationary energy-storage applications because of its combination of thermal stability, long cycle life and high energy efficiency.

With a specified cycle life of 6,000 cycles or more at 80% DoD and 25°C, the HOPE 5.0L-B1 is designed for repeated charging and discharging over many years of normal operation.

92% Depth of Discharge

A Depth of Discharge of up to 92% allows users to utilize a large proportion of the battery’s available stored energy while operating within the manufacturer’s specified parameters.

This helps maximize usable storage from the compact 5kWh battery system.

Expandable Up to 48 Battery Packs

For installations requiring more than 5kWh of storage, the HOPE 5.0L-B1 supports parallel connection of up to 48 battery packs.

This provides considerable flexibility when designing or expanding an energy-storage system, with theoretical rated storage scaling from 5.12kWh for one battery up to 245.76kWh for 48 batteries, subject to compatible system design and equipment.

CAN & RS485 Communication

Built-in CAN and RS485 communication ports allow the battery management system to exchange important operating information with compatible inverters and energy-management equipment.

Proper battery-to-inverter communication helps coordinate charging, discharging and battery protection functions.
